Immunodiagnosis Tools for Parasitic Diseases

چکیده

Regarding harmful agents in livestock, parasites play an important role moreover it also effect 1/4th of the human populace by various zoonotic diseases (e.g. Toxplasma, Cryptosporidium, Trypanosomiasis, etc.). In livestock the parasites successful invade host immune responses, so early diagnosis of parasitic agents by various immunodiagnostic techniques is very important. Numerous immunological/serological techniques have been emerged such as the complement fixation test (CFT), immunodiffusion (ID), indirect haemagglutination (IHA), indirect immunofluorescent antibody test (IFA), various forms of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) [Sandwich ELISA, indirect and direct ELISA, competitive ELISA, falcon assay screening test ELISA (FAST-ELISA), dot-ELISA, rapid antigen detection system (RDTS), and luciferase immune precipitation system (LIPS)] and radioimmunoassay (RIA). They targets different components of parasite, moreover they can detect disease before the emergence of clinical sign. These tests are used for many important parasitic diseases like Echinococcus multilocularis, Wuchereria bancrofti, Taenia solium and parasite causing Babesiosis, Toxoplasmosis, Visceral leishmaniasis, Human African Trypanosomiasis in both man and animals. Moreover now a day’s nano and biosensor technology has also been used for improvising the diagnostic aspect. This current mini-review is an attempt to consolidate some information of different serological based test for early diagnosis of main parasitic disease. *Corresponding author: Deepak S, Department of Veterinary Parasitology, Institute of Veterinary Education and Research, India, Tel: +91-9906070221; E-mail: [email protected] Received November 10, 2016; Accepted December 26, 2016; Published December 30, 2016 Citation: Deepak S, Singla LD (2016) Immunodiagnosis Tools for Parasitic Diseases. MEMBRANE FRACTIONS FROM Strongyloides venezuelensis IN THE IMMUNODIAGNOSIS OF HUMAN STRONGYLOIDIASIS

Strongyloides venezuelensis is a parasitic nematode of rodents frequently used to obtain heterologous antigens for the immunological diagnosis of human strongyloidiasis. The aim of this study was to evaluate membrane fractions from S. venezuelensis for human strongyloidiasis immunodiagnosis. Soluble and membrane fractions were obtained in phosphate saline (SS and SM) and Tris-HCl (TS and TM) fr...

Immunodiagnosis of nematode infections and prospects for vaccination, with special reference to Trichinella spiralis.

Within the phylum Nematoda are species not only responsible for several chronic, debilitating diseases of man, but also for significant economic losses resulting from parasitaemias of livestock. Parasitic zoonoses caused by nematodes, such as trichinosis, present a public health concern as well. In an effort to combat these diseases, much research has been directed towards the development of va...

IMMUNODIAGNOSIS OF HUMAN STRONGYLOIDIASIS: USE OF SIX DIFFERENT ANTIGENIC FRACTIONS FROM Strongyloides venezuelensis PARASITIC FEMALES

The aim of this study was to evaluate six different antigenic fractions from Strongyloides venezuelensis parasitic females for the immunodiagnosis of human strongyloidiasis. Soluble and membrane fractions from S. venezuelensis parasitic females were prepared in phosphate-buffered saline (SSF and SMF, respectively), Tris-HCl (TSF and TMF, respectively), and an alkaline buffer (ASF and AMF, respe...

Recent advances in serodiagnosis for cysticercosis.

Neurocysticercosis (NCC) caused by infection with the larval stage of Taenia solium is an important cause of neurological disease worldwide. Up to the present, many studies on characterizing species-specific antigens of T. solium have been done and several high quality antigens for serodiagnosis are available. Hence the research on serodiagnosis has been shifted to the next phase, stable produc...

Identification of candidate antigens from adult stages of Toxocara canis for the serodiagnosis of human toxocariasis.

In the present work, we identified adult Toxocara canis antigens through sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis for potential use in human toxocariasis immunodiagnosis. The sensitivity and specificity of several semi-purified antigens, as well as their cross-reactivity with other parasitic infections, were assessed by IgM and IgG-enzime linked immunosorbent assay. Whilst we f...
